Black Business Month in the 19th Ward is the result of months of planning from the Community Connections Committee. This partnership includes several committed small business owners along with BAPA, the Morgan Park Beverly Hills Business Association, the 95th Street Business Association, and the Mount Greenwood Community and Business Association.
Every August, we celebrate Black Business Month in the 19th Ward by shining a light on the brilliance, resilience, and impact of Black-owned businesses throughout Beverly, Morgan Park, and Mount Greenwood.
Led by the Community Connections Committee, our Black Business Month programming creates intentional spaces for connection, collaboration, and community-building — with events that inspire, support, and empower.
Our goals:
- highlighting our Black-owned businesses and their unique offerings.
- building community among local Black entrepreneurs so that they can support and promote each other.
- helping businesses expand their customer base by sharing information about Black Business Month in print, on social media, and this website.
- creating a lasting resource—an online directory—for people to find Black-owned businesses in Beverly/Morgan Park.

The MPBHBA created a searchable directory of local businesses in Beverly and Morgan Park that are owned by Black entrepreneurs. We hope you will use this resource to show your support for our local businesses and shop where you live!
